Graduate Collection (Trish)
Trish was a collaboration project between myself and Fashion Design student Kristen Meaclem. ‘Trish’ derives from two main influences, trash and fish. This collection of garments has been created using 100% post-consumer waste, with key features being sequins hand-punched from aluminum cans, weaves using chip bags and scrap fabrics pieced together to form graphic patterns. Using Maximalist aesthetics, Trish boldly emphasizes the sheer abundance of excess man-made materials that exist. Conversely, Trish has taken influence from nature and has looked to Maximalist fish for design inspiration.
